Battery Recycling - November 18, 2009

Pope/Douglas Solid Waste Management now accepts a wide range of batteries for recycling.  In addition to lead-acid automotive batteries, we are also able to accept the following batteries:

  • Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cad)
  • Nickel-Metal Hydride (Ni-MH)
  • Lithium Ion (Li-ion)
  • Button Batteries (typically found in watches and hearing aids)
  • Small sealed Lead batteries (Pb)
  • Any Rechargeable Battery
  • Non-rechargeable or Alkaline Batteries are not accepted for recycling and may be discarded in your trash.

These batteries may be brought to the Household Hazardous Waste facility during normal hours of operation:

Monday - Friday

8am to Noon and 1pm to 4:30pm
